☀️ Summer Crime Prevention Advice – Keep Your Home Safe

With the longer days and warmer weather, many of us are spending more time outdoors, on holidays, or enjoying evenings in the garden. Unfortunately, this can also create opportunities for burglars.

Please take a few simple steps to help keep your home and belongings safe this summer:

🔒 Secure your property

Always lock doors and windows, even if you’re at home or just in the garden.

Don’t leave keys in locks or within sight of doors and windows.

🏡 Make your home look occupied

Use timer switches for lights when you’re out.

Ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property if you’re away.

Avoid advertising holidays on social media until you return.

🚗 Protect your vehicles

Lock your car and remove valuables from sight.

Keep car keys out of view and away from doors and windows.

🌳 Be mindful in gardens

Secure bikes, tools, and garden equipment – these can be targeted or used to gain entry.

Lock gates and sheds where possible.

👀 Stay alert and report concerns

Report any suspicious behaviour or unknown callers acting suspiciously.

In an emergency call 999, or for non-emergencies contact 101.
